North Carolina Third-Party Access required

 Required for OnPay to pay on your behalf 

Third-Party Access for the North Carolina Department of Revenue

For OnPay to file and pay your North Carolina withholding taxes, we must have the items listed below:

  • FEIN or SSN as on file with the Department of Revenue for your business
  • Business name as on file with the state
  • State Withholding Account ID

Submit a request and provide the above information.

Reminder
OnPay also needs you to enter your state tax IDs and tax rates in order to properly calculate and remit all state taxes. See all North Carolina tax guides→


Access you may need to grant upon request

You may be asked to grant this access in order for OnPay to work with tax offices on your behalf.

Third-Party Access for the Department of Commerce Division of Employment Security

For OnPay to file and pay your North Carolina unemployment taxes, we must have third-party access to your NCSUITS account. Please complete the following steps:

  1. Log into your NCSUITS account.
  2. Go to "Account Maintenance" 
  3. Click "Agent Assignment" under Employer Account
  4. Click the "Add Agent" button
  5. Under Search Agent, enter OnPays "Agent ID: 16087" in the blank field
  6. Click "Search"
  7. Select the "Agent Authorization" Option 
  8. Assign the following Roles with an "Access Begin Date" of when you joined OnPay:
    • Wage Reports
    • Payments
    • Tax Rate Information
  9. Leave "Access End Date" blank
  10. Click Save

Power of Attorney for the Department of Commerce Division of Employment Security

  1. Download and print the North Carolina DES Power of Attorney form
  2. Complete the top section for employer information
  3. The owner/operator will need to sign at the bottom of the form
  4. The Power of Attorney Form must be notarized before returning it to OnPay 
  5. Submit a request and attach a copy of your form

Power of Attorney for the Department of Revenue

  1. Download the North Carolina DOR Power of Attorney form
  2. Complete Section 1 regarding your business information
  3. The taxpayer will need to sign Section 7
  4. Submit a request and attach a copy of your form
