Nested navigation Onboarding workers Reports and Filings have moved
When using OnPay on a computer, you'll see a vertical menu on the left. This persistent navigation menu, or "nav", is designed to enable fast and fluid access to the data and tools you need to onboard workers, process payroll, manage HR, administer benefits, and of course, ensure your payroll taxes are correctly filed and paid. We'll cover each tab in the menu here, but first, let's explore the subnav and menu options.
Navigating menu options
Hover-over and subnav options
When you hover your arrow over most tabs in the menu, a submenu will fly out with more options.
Options with a caret (triangular icon on the left) contain a nested list of even more choices. Click to open. To close, click the list header again, or open another nested list in the tab's submenu.
Nested lists will remain open if you navigate away and back. In the below example, Workers→Onboarding and Payroll→Reports have both been left open.
Click to navigate and pin menu
Click any tab to view its dashboard. The submenu will stay open as long as you hover over it. You can make this expanded menu stay open by clicking Pin Menu at the bottom.
When your menu is pinned, your dashboard will resize to fit the space. This lets you see all your menu options without obscuring any on-screen information.
Dashboard
The Dashboard tab presents your Company Dashboard. This serves as a customizable, all-purpose workspace, where you can see your team and add workers, catch up on notifications, tasks, or requests, start a payroll run, and a lot more. As you navigate through OnPay, you can always return here by clicking Dashboard at the top of the nav. There is no expanded menu in the Dashboard tab.

At the top of the Workers tab is your Employees. You can search for active and inactive employees to view or update their information. You'll also find some team basics – like outstanding invitations, or upcoming birthdays – on the right.
Contractors should be entered in OnPay separately from employees. Click View Contractors to add or update 1099-MISC contractors.
The Workers tab has two nested menus packed with employee onboarding features:

- Hire Worker
- Employee Offers
- Tasks
Files
- Worker Documents
- File Audit
…as well as a “Milestones” tab for birthdays and work anniversaries.
Payroll Reports and Filings
