For OnPay to effectively calculate state tax contributions, you'll need to ensure the tax rates entered in Onpay are correct for each state where your company has a tax obligations. For example, if you operate in both Dakotas, you must keep payroll tax information up-to-date for each (and every) state where you pay employees.

- South Dakota Unemployment ID
- Reemployment Assistance Rate (SUI Rate)
- Investment Fee Rate
- Administrative Fee Rate

Where to find your SUI tax information
Refer to the most recent Unemployment Insurance Tax Rate Notice you received from the South Dakota Department of Labor Regulation.
- Your Unemployment ID is listed in the upper left, above your address
- Your SUI Rate, Investment Fee Rate, and Administrative Fee Tax, are listed separately, in the table in the upper right
- Enter these rates separately in OnPay
- Do not use "Total Tax Rate for 2024"
Where to enter your rate in OnPay
Go to Company, then Payroll Taxes.
Do you pay employees in multiple states?
If so, select South Dakota under "Payroll Taxes".
Enter the information provided in your tax notice. Use the Update buttons to enter your rates.
Click Save when you're done.
