For OnPay to effectively calculate state tax contributions, you'll need to ensure the tax rates entered in Onpay are correct for each state where your company has a tax obligations. For example, if you operate in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, you must keep payroll tax information up-to-date for each (and every) state where you pay employees.

Where to find your SUI tax information
Refer to the most recent Unemployment Insurance (UI) Tax Rate Determination you received from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
- Your Employer Account Number can be found in the upper right of the first page
- Your Minnesota UI Rate is listed on the first page, after "Your UI tax rate:"
- Your Minnesota Workforce Enhancement Fee Rate is listed on the first page, under "Assessments"
Where to enter your rate in OnPay
Go to Company, then Payroll Taxes.
Do you pay employees in multiple states?
If so, select Minnesota under "Payroll Taxes".
Use the Update buttons to enter your Minnesota SUI and Workforce Development Assessment Rates separately.
Set SUI Rate
Using the pop-up calendar, select the effective date for your SUI rate as indicated in your notice, then enter your SUI rate as a percent in the next field.
Click Save when you're done.
Set WEF Rate
Using the pop-up calendar, select the effective date for your WEF rate as indicated in your notice, then select your WEF rate from the menu.
Click Save when you're done.
