For OnPay to effectively calculate state tax contributions, you'll need to ensure the tax rates entered in Onpay are correct for each state where your company has a tax obligations. For example, if you operate in both Kentucky and Tennessee, you must keep payroll tax information up-to-date for each (and every) state where you pay employees.
What you'll need
- Kentucky Employer Identification Number
- Kentucky UI Rate
Where to find your SUI tax information
Refer to the most recent Contribution Rate Notice you received from the Kentucky Office of Unemployment Insurance.
- Your Employer Identification Number (KEIN) can be found in the upper right
- Your Kentucky UI Rate is listed on the next line
- You do not need to enter your Adjusted UI Rate or your SCUF Rate separately
Where to enter your rate in OnPay
Go to Company, then Payroll Taxes.
Do you pay employees in multiple states?
If so, select Kentucky under "Payroll Taxes".
Use the Update button to enter your Kentucky UI Rate. Do not enter your Adjusted UI Rate or your SCUF Rate separately, as these add up to your UI Rate.
In the pop-up calendar above "Choose Effective Date" indicated in the upper right of your notice (below account number), then enter your rate as a percent in the next field.
Click Save when you're done.
